| The Church of Christ is a group of
Christians who worship and work together. We are dedicated to
serving God by obeying Him and proclaiming His good news to the world
(MT.28:19-20: MK.16:15-16). We are a diverse group that enjoys
the cooperation and fellowship of a multitalented membership in
serving God. We believe in nondenominational Christianity as
revealed in the New Testament and as established in the first century
by Christ himself. With the Bible as our only guide, we seek to
find what the original church was like and restore it according to
that pattern (Co.4:17; 15:1-4; 2Ti.1:13). We are simply members
of the church which Jesus established and for which he died (Mt.16:18;
Ro.5:8-9).
It is our conviction that only Christ has the authority to say what
the Church is, how it should worship, and what we should teach.
Since the New Testament alone sets forth our Lord's instructions to
His disciples, it alone must serve as the basis for all religious
teaching and practice (Ro.1:16-17; Ti.3:16-17; 4:1-5). Following
the plan of organization found in the New Testament, churches of
Christ are autonomous. Their common faith in the Bible and
adherence to it's teaching are the chief ties which bind them together.
There is no central headquarters of the church or no organization
superior to the elders of each local congregation. Congregations
do cooperate voluntarily in supporting the orphans and the aged, in
preaching the gospel in new fields, and in other similar works.
There are no conventions, annual meetings or official publications.
The "tie that binds" is a common loyalty to the principles of New
Testament Christianity.
We are confident that those who follow Christ can be united in Him
based upon the pattern of His word. (Mt.7:21-23; Jn.12:47-50).
We invite any and all to come and visit and study with us.
